Ben Dawley

Born in Rochester Hills, Michigan, Ben has been involved in choirs and bands from an early age. Originally a cornet player, Ben switched to the euphonium at the age of eleven.

Ben received both his bachelor's and master's degrees from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, under the instruction of Dr. Paul Overly.  He also studied under Dr. Zach Collins (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), Brandon Jones (USAF, Washington D.C.), David King, and current teacher Steven Mead (international soloist & professor of euphonium at Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, UK).

Ben has had the opportunity to perform with various ensembles including the Troy Metro Symphony Orchestra, Chemical City Band, Midland Concert Band, Motor City Brass Band, and the United Stand Army Field Band. He is currently the principal euphonium of the Five Lakes Metro Brass Band.

Ben has been teaching for 20 years as a band and choir director and private instructor in South Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

Ben and his wife live in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and they have four children: Emma, Claire, Liam, and Colin.
